Why it’s built the way it is
Most About pages are a résumé. This one’s an explanation.
You can find how I got here all over this site — dog trainer since 2012, a few thousand dogs in, a recruiting and event-promotion life before that, and a marketing education I earned the hard way getting my own business found. That’s the origin story, and it’s true. This page is about something else: not how I got here, but why the tool itself is shaped the way it is. The honest answer is that it’s shaped like the way I think — because I couldn’t have built it any other way.
I’m neurodivergent, and so is the product
I’m telling you that because it’s the actual reason this works the way it does — not because it’s a nice thing to say.
The marketing industry runs on tools I genuinely can’t use. Dashboards with forty numbers and no answer. Jargon that hides the point instead of making it. Subscriptions that bill quietly in the background whether I touch them or not. For years I assumed I was the one falling short — that everyone else could hold all of it in their head and I just couldn’t keep pace. What actually happened is that I stopped forcing myself to work the way the industry works, and built the version I could use. That version turned out to be clearer for almost everyone — not only the people who think like me.
You can see it in three decisions
None of these were marketing choices. They’re accommodations I made for myself first — and then realized every stretched-thin business owner needed just as badly.
A plan, not a dashboard. The industry hands you a dashboard and calls it a service: rankings, traffic, a dozen graphs, and no idea what to actually do. I can’t work from that, and I don’t think you should have to. So you don’t get a wall of numbers to decode — you get a plan. This is what’s wrong. This is the one thing to do first. This is the next thing. Ordered, finite, in plain words. You never have to hold the whole picture at once; that part’s mine. You do the next step.
You get the keys. A lot of this field quietly runs on keeping you dependent — holding your logins, your accounts, the how-it-works — so that leaving costs you everything. I won’t do that. I teach you how your own visibility works and I hand you the keys, because the whole goal is for you to stop needing me. When you’ve got it, you’ve graduated. I’m still here when something new shows up — but you are never locked out of your own business.
You pay for the work, not the waiting. A subscription that runs whether you use it or not — money leaving every month for something sitting untouched — is the one thing I couldn’t bring myself to build. So this isn’t built that way. You buy a session, or a package of them; when the heavy work is done, it’s done. You settle into a light check-in you earned, or you step away completely. Nothing runs in the background charging you to exist.
Who I’m for
Let me say the rest of it plainly.
I build for the people the marketing world talks over. If you’ve ever walked out of a meeting sure the problem was you, because someone buried a simple thing under acronyms — I built this for you. If you run your business in a way that doesn’t match everyone else’s — different hours, different pace, different wiring — that’s not a flaw I need to correct. It’s usually the reason you’re good at what you do.
And to be clear about who’s welcome here: LGBTQIA+ folks, and anyone the world tends to leave off the list — whatever your background, whatever you’re working with or around, however your household is put together — you never have to wonder with me. You’re welcome, and I’ll meet you where you actually are, not where a template assumes you should be. The dog world is every kind of person. So is mine.
If that’s how you’d want to be helped
Then we’ll probably get along. Tell me about your business, and we’ll work out together whether I’m the right fit — no pressure, no pitch, no contract. And if I’m not your person, I’ll say so.
